By ChibiNeko
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1K11O3JKJQRSA This was an incredibly easy to use webcam, which is awesome since I don't have a lot of experience with them. I've seen my friends & family use them but I've never actually set one up myself before now. It was overall a good experience.
I have to admit that I'm not the most tech savvy person that's posted a review, so my review will be very much from the average non-computer savvy viewpoint. The lighting on this is very good & I liked that I was able to situate the webcam onto my laptop, as my regular desktop is currently on the fritz. Once set onto your computer, you can position the camera head however you like. I also liked that it had good light- I was very much afraid that this would show up dark like some of the digital cameras I've owned (or my cell phone camera), so that was a plus.
For me the greatest thing about this was how easy it was to upload, use & such. The software actually comes with a movie maker, which could be very good for those who want to do a little something extra with their camera. For the price this is currently selling for, this seems like it is a very good deal. The only people I think would probably want to go elsewhere are the ones who want something a little more sophisticated- I do know that there are webcams out there that are fancier than this, although for the average consumer this should be all you need.
EDIT:
Just wanted to note that for the purposes of this review I received two Logitech C210s, one to record the video with & one to show off on camera.

By Joseph
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R264VL1LFHHDKE Logitech is the leading seller of webcams, and like all of their products, the C210 is reliable, easy to install, and a pleasure to use. This is Logitech's entry model, so I don't recommend it if you are planning to start a career as a Youtube video blogger or adult model, but for people who want to get started with video chat or even basic webcam videos, this is a great value.
I rated this at four stars *at this price point*, but people with bigger budgets or more technical needs should look into the advanced models.
What I liked:
- This is a good basic webcam. VGA video (640 x 480) and 1.3 megapixel photos aren't going to blow anyone away, but it works fine with Skype, Chatroulette, or Logitech's chat software, "Vid." You can snap basic photos, record videos, and it also has a mode that will record every time something moves in the frame. (Basically a "nanny-cam").
- It's nice and small, and the clip attaches well to a monitor or laptop.
- The camera has good, basic light and sound correction, and the microphone seems fine.
- The price is right.
What I didn't like:
- According to the box and Logitech's website, this is only compatible with Windows XP, 7, and Vista. Sure, Logitech has other models for Macs, but it would have been nice to have support for the Mac OS and for older Windows systems.
- It's a minor gripe, but the USB cord is only 5 feet. 10 feet would have made it much easier to thread the cord behind and under my desk to my computer.
- Some of Logitech's other models have a "privacy screen" that lets you cover the lens when you're not filming. I suppose I could just put a hat on my monitor, and I know that there is a "camera on" light to warn me when it's taping, but either way, I like to have the lens covered when I'm not using it. (I blame Mrs. Blake for making me read Nineteen Eighty-Four at an impressionable age.)
Finally, although this camera is good for the price, you may want to consider upgrading. For just a little more $$, you can get a Logitech C500 with a glass lens, 1.3 megapixel video, and 5 megapixel snapshots. For a little more than that, you can get Logitech Pro 9000 with a Carl Zeiss lens and 2 megapixel video. Still, I guess that's always the way. Whichever you choose, enjoy!
I've added a video review so that you can see the camera in action. As you can see, it looks fine in the small view, but is a little blocky in full screen view.

By D. Fowler
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2HV0BX2ED1T2T For many people who are not looking for the highest tech webcam and need something relatively simple to use with, say, Skype, the Logitech C210 is exactly what most people will need. The installation is very simple, but if you still feel incapable of working with it, there are bound to be many people around who have the skills to assist. Take for example, the video accompanying my written review. My son had no difficulty installing or using this webcam. If you are looking toward higher quality production, you already know you will need to look at a more expensive Logitech that offers more features. I found the image on this video satisfactory, considering the lighting in the room was low, and thought the background noise was minimal considering this household is a busy one.
Many low-tech parents and grandparents are now excited that they can easily communicate with family members without having to invest in expensive equipment or field an expensive telephone bill each month. This unit will enable them to "visit" with them in an enjoyable and relaxing manner. Some older people find technology threatening, but once this Logitech Webcam is introduced, you'll probably find yourself or your children and grandchildren saying hello on a regular basis. This unit can sent 1.3-megapixel photos "with just one click" if you don't have the time to sit and chat. Imagine sitting down at your computer and seeing your grandchildren holding up a drawing made just for you!
All the technical specs for this webcam are included on this page, but here are a few things to keep in mind:
* The video recording is excellent given the relatively inexpensive price of the webcam
* The video calling is clear, something that is not always available in areas where cell phone service is spotty or nonexistent (great feature for the rural family)
* 1.3 MP photos (think grandparents here)
* A noise-cancelling mic, a feature that is a real plus in a busy household
* The set-up is quick, easy, and within the capability of most computer users
The illustrated instruction booklet is in English, Spanish, and French. The booklet is very small, but the illustrations and instructions are clear and concise. For those who could use additional assistance, there are four listed websites that one can browse before starting installation or using the Logitech C210. In my biased estimation, the best use of this webcam would be for casual family use. The purchase and set up of a few of these would be one of the best investments in family togetherness you could buy!
